Your Chocolate Box is Too Large

When you complete a dozen beautifully crafted chocolate truffles, you put them in a candy box, shut the lid and hand the box over to the customer.

However, once the customer gets home and opens the box all 12 truffles slide into the bottom left-hand corner.

Your lovely gift now resembles a mound of chocolate.

That’s why having the correct candy boxes for candy stores, bakeries, etc., is so essential. A candy box has two primary functions; it needs to contain the sweets you created (it holds), and when opened by your customer it should provide an attractive visual presentation.

One method to assist with this presentation is selecting the proper box dimensions. If the candy box is too large, then when items such as chocolate truffles are placed within it, the candies may shift around while being stored. Although the chocolates may remain unbroken, they will most likely not retain their visually appealing format. On the flip side, a box that is too small can cause frustration in addition to the inconvenience of attempting to fit the desired number of items into the space provided.

An excellent option to alleviate these issues is to select a candy box that contains exactly the number of sweets you are packaging. For instance, if you are packaging four-piece chocolate gift sets, you’ll desire to maintain some smaller-sized candy boxes on hand. Similarly, if customers frequently purchase a dozen pieces of candy you will also require larger candy boxes on hand.

In either case maintaining sufficient quantities of appropriately sized candy boxes in inventory will allow for easy and efficient packing of each customer’s order eliminating the guesswork of determining whether you possess enough of the required box type. Additionally, using candy cups or inserts can aid in keeping individual items from shifting during transportation. These simple products are particularly helpful for storing chocolates, truffles, etc., that have fragile components requiring additional support.

Consideration should also be given to how your customer intends to utilize the candy. Are they purchasing a few pieces of fudge to enjoy en route to somewhere? Or are they purchasing chocolates for a special occasion such as a wedding, birthday or holiday? In instances where a customer purchases candies for personal enjoyment they typically do not consider aesthetics of the container. However, when a customer purchases candies specifically for gift-giving purposes they will likely appreciate a nicely designed/looking container. Maintaining multiple types of candy containers allows you to accommodate both types of customer requests.

Lastly, possessing suitable candy boxes can greatly reduce labor costs associated with preparing packages. No one enjoys spending five minutes at a time attempting to locate a container that will adequately hold the various elements of an order prior to shipping. When you have previously established which size candy box works best for each specific item, preparation of orders becomes significantly less complicated.
